Horia says
There's a weird feeling about this line of unpaired shoes on display behind the closed bars of an unnamed store. In my composition, I tried to evoke the symbols of dead or mutilated soldiers, part of a huge dead army. The metallic crosses right in front of us, repeated in the back evoke the forbidden trespassing. I like to think that the vendor did not have a clue about the emotional impact it would have on me …
About the artist
Horia Pop
Horia Pop's an artist living in France, right now. Making his way to live through his art (screenwriting, filming, shooting). His next step is to find a producer to help financing his first long feature : an autobiographical road-movie, "Samuel Kramer or the Adventures of a Tramp". He shoots mostly in Black and White, because he loves the purity, the magic, the vintage look about them. Most of all, it enables him to lean close to asceticism and closer to strangeness
